The Naturopathic Way to Good Health
Health is more than just the absence of illness. Good health is possible when we support our body, mind and spirit to be their best. Our health is affected by many factors, and so when we have an absence of health, we must investigate the causes.
During each Naturopathic consultation, we look at all the factors that are depleting your good health, to address your symptoms and the causes. Naturopathy takes into account the whole of you: your physical symptoms as well as your mental, emotional and other symptoms. This may include looking at the food you eat, the lifestyle you lead, your exercise, stress levels and much more. Factors such as pollution, what's happening in your life, your medical history and your family history, are all taken into account when devising a plan for recovering good health.
We talk about your health goals and how you can make the best decisions for a balanced, supportive lifestyle. Your treatment program is individualised to suit you, in recognition that lifestyle and dietary changes are difficult. You may need support to make, and maintain, healthy changes at a pace you can manage. We all need to develop a wide range of skills, including healthy eating habits, stress management techniques, relaxation, breathing habits, postural habits, self talk, exercise, yoga and meditation.
Having been through the process of being unwell, and recovering my health, I speak from experience. So I can empathise with you, and offer you practical ideas, as well as down-to-earth treatment. I encourage all my clients to learn about their health and listen to their own bodies. Being aware of your body and understanding it’s messages, enables you to act for good health. Understanding how your thoughts and feelings affect your health helps you work out what you need to do.
In this “Information Age” it is crucial to be able to question and critique the information you come across. I encourage my clients to learn, research and discuss so they can make decisions about their health based on their own wisdom .Sometimes becoming well takes time. I will persevere in working with you to find ways to improve your health. Many of my clients (and their families), have been coming to me as their health care practitioner for many years. This allows us to develop a trusting, ongoing relationship, where they learn and grow in their knowledge and skills as well as their health.
